2013 Update I

On jacks all of 2013....

This year has been very busy for me, hence have been unable to complete the Subaru install. Remaining work is basic tie in of the ECU back to the dash. Plan to post 1st start video sometime 2014. Pictures show some of the exahust work we got done earlier this year. Thanks Ray.

Went with flex pipe solution.

2012 Update!

Well the spyder is getting a new Subaru engine this year. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the 2276 VW motor, It just need an update. The Subaru engine is a far better in terms of modern design and reliability. No more Carbs to give me fits with. My Bro. Ray came up from Texas hand helped me install the new addition last week.

1000 miles on Spyder now.



Just turned 1000 on the clock, have had carburetor issues. The Weber IDF's are poor in terms of fuel economy and the jetting is still not quite right. I had a low speed idle circuit clogged that caused much backfiring out the tops of the carb's as well as tailpipe. My plan is to have a backup set of carb's available, so the car is not down if this happens again. The Spyder has been a blast to drive this first year. With fall approaching I will likely get a few more weekends of driving fun in before Spidey get's beaded down for winter.

2018 Update II

Spyder updates are continuing, updated to higher quality -20 cooling lines, EARL's Pro-Lite 350.
