Winter is here...
Cranked the Spyder up today for a five minute warm up. Just to get the oil circulating through the engine.

1000 miles on Spyder now.

Just turned 1000 on the clock, have had carburetor issues. The Weber IDF's are poor in terms of fuel economy and the jetting is still not quite right. I had a low speed idle circuit clogged that caused much backfiring out the tops of the carb's as well as tailpipe. My plan is to have a backup set of carb's available, so the car is not down if this happens again. The Spyder has been a blast to drive this first year. With fall approaching I will likely get a few more weekends of driving fun in before Spidey get's beaded down for winter.

Open road testing

The Spyder has approx. 350 miles on it now, the last few day's I have been going further out into the Missouri country side. The Spyder seem's to be running rich at the moment and tends to be quite a little gas guzzler. No radio just the engine music is all you get with one of these.

DMV inspection

My appointment at the Highway patrol office to have the car inspected went off without a hitch. Got to drive the car there on a drive away pass good for 24 hours. Put approx. 30 miles on the spyder today, it was a blast to drive on the highway. My paperwork has now been submitted to the the state for titling.

Spyder Delivered!

The long wait is over, after 20+ months the Little Spyder is finally home. The first drive was cool getting the car in our parking garage. Now I'm on a new quest to get this thing registered here in Missouri.

Shipping Date is approaching

Shipping will take place very soon...with in days. My builder has informed me that the car will be ready to ship. Car should be arriving around 1st of March. While a replica is far from the real thing, the overall effect is the same. The original spyder weighed approx., 1200 lb. with a 120 horse power engine. My replica on the other hand will have 1200 lb. with a 160 horse power engine, should be fun to drive.

Anyone interested in the plight to spyder ownership, it is a long, long journey with little fun during the wait process....all I can say. After I receive the car I will post about other fun things like getting one of these registered, that sort of thing.

Delivery date extended 2 weeks

Well the delivery date did not get made since the car was not ready. There was other factors as well. Date extended to 1-27-10. Hopefully this will be enough time to get the car finished. These things take time, as the old saying use to go "Cant rush perfection". The Spyder is small quick car, the replica is approx. the same weight to power ratio. When I get additional progress photos I will post them here.
